I was inspired by Japanese and Chinese illustrations with cranes while creating this work. In Japanese tradition, it is said that a wish may come true if one makes one thousand paper cranes. According to ancient beliefs, the crane is a bird of the sun and a symbol of eternal mutual love, representing an ever-changing life cycle. In many cultures, the crane is a sacred bird close to the gods, connecting the real and spiritual realms.
